Who we are

Our company proudly bears the name Alvus, Latin for “beehive”, which conveys our respect for nature. After all, a biomethane/biogas plant has a lot in common with a beehive: The biomasses are brought from the surrounding countryside, just like bees, who collect nectar for their beehive.
Alvus is based on the know-how the founder, Christof Erckert, accrued in over 15 years from the European Social Fund’s research & development project “Alpibiogas” between 2009 and 2012 and (1st generation) biogas plants built with our technology.

Our success is based on our highly educated and skilled staff.

What we do

We believe in sustainable, eco-friendly energy production. Our know-how is based on over 15 years of experience, enabling us to offer a variety of services in the biomethane/biogas sector:

Project developer

We develop ideas into approved, buildable and funded biomethane projects (as defined by the “Italian biomethane law” DM 2/3/2018). Together with our project development partner VORN Bioenergy we develop biomethane projects on the Italian market. This is why we are always looking for land lots potentially suitable for biomethane plants.

Technology provider

We develop technical solutions for the biomethane/biogas market based on our know-how. Our technology is particularly suitable for plants fed with agricultural byproducts, such as manure and stover. These plants are very flexible and low maintenance. We believe in the principle “you can’t break what you don’t have”. Discover our technology!

Consulting services

Our team has over 15 years of experience in the development, realization and operation of biomethane/biogas plants. We advise our clients on all aspects related to biogas/biomethane plants: due diligences, business plan verifications, site selection, biomass procurement, feeding plan choice, selection of the most suitable technology, etc. Do you have a plant and would like to optimize it? Do you intend to buy an existing plant and would like to have it inspected by an expert? Do you want to convert your biogas plant into a biomethane plant? Are you thinking of building a plant and wish to have an experienced consultant at your side? Contact us!

Our partners

VORN Bioenergy GmbH is a leading biomethane producer and project developer based in Regensburg, Germany.
VORN’s mission is to unlock the potential of biogas across Europe and beyond, because the green energy transition depends on low-carbon gas and fuel solutions.

Ecomembrane srl is Italy’s leading company in the production of gas holders and waterproofing systems for liquid manure holders. Its technical know-how is an important added value for Alvus.
Ecomembrane is present on three continents with sales offices and production facilities, assisting Alvus in positioning its technology on markets worldwide.
Ecomembrane is not only a technology partner but also a shareholder, holding 19% of Alvus’ shares.

Last, but not least, Alvus’ staff and management are also shareholders, holding 20% of the company shares.

Looking for land

Do you own 5-10 hectares close to a gas pipeline? Are there large quantities of biomasses – such as manure, stover, pomace, food production leftovers – available nearby? Are there fields nearby where the digestate can be spread? We are always interested in potential sites for biomethane plants.

Public grants

Research & development is important, but also expensive. We are glad, but also proud to have been awarded various public grants.
